Bill Haines

A co-founder of ASSET (founded in 2013), Bill creates and leads innovative training for organizations ranging from Army Special Forces to law enforcement, private security, health care, large and small businesses, and private citizens. His vision for ASSET’s training branch is to narrow costly and risky training gaps, and challenge the status quo maintained by training organizations concerned more about profit than survivability of their students. Before ASSET, he improved training for various contract companies (including O’Gara [formerly VIR/SSI], International Training Inc [ITI], Academi [formerly Blackwater], and NEK Advanced Securities Group) as well as the Army Advanced Law Enforcement Training Division’s (ALETD) Protective Services (PSD) and Anti-terrorism Evasive Driving (AEDC) Courses. Bill also contributed improvements to the State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service’s driving program (used by all contract companies training under this program). At ALETD, he added unimproved road driving to the program, revamped the evasive driving and attack scenarios to more dynamic and tactically sound versions, rewrote the majority of the driving lesson plans for the PSD Course, and organized and led instructor development for approximately 20 instructors to bring the new program online. These achievements were recognized through instructor of the year awards at the team, branch and division levels, among approximately 35 experienced instructors. Prior to his training career, he served in law enforcement for 12 years, both in the Air Force and as a Patrol Deputy in Medina County, TX. In the Air Force, he served as a Program Manager and Team Leader for the Phoenix Raven Program, providing flexible and dynamic security solutions for a range of assets and personnel travelling to over 30 countries in the Middle East, Africa, and Central and South America.
